WHAT SAFETY MEASURES ARE WE TAKING IN LIGHT OF COVID-19?
Life and interaction as we know it has become strained. I work alone and am serious about maintaining distance. We continue to carry out jobs wearing protective clothing. You can find the Government's guidelines on working in people's home here.
HOW MANY YEARS' EXPERIENCE DO WE HAVE?
We started out in 2008. The painting world is a small one, with many self-employed painters appearing on jobs. We work with the same painter/ decorators to maintain standards but are always happy to hear from professionals with solid experience.
HOW DO WE PRICE UP OUR JOBS?
We quote fairly, affordably and free (with no obligation)
We want you to have a quality result at a price that is right, so we keep things simple and transparent:

We travel to you so we can see and measure your space as well as assess the condition of your walls and ceilings. This serves as a guide for us to source materials in the right quantities and estimate how a long job will take us. Seeing your space is essential for us to quote you
We'll have a general chat about how you'd like things done, your colour schemes and if you have purchased paint/ wallpaper or would like us to help with this
Then we’ll quote in two parts:
1. Our flat call-out rate, which is based on the number of days the job will take us
plus
2. The cost per square metre/feet
Prepping walls and ceilings for a smooth finish is a big part of the job. The cost per square metre/feet will reflect this and depend on the condition of your walls: damaged walls require a tougher approach, more materials and more time.

Then we let you think on it and get back in touch to discuss whether you would like to hire us for the job!
HOW MAY PEOPLE ARE ON OUR TEAM?
The Fergusons team starts with 1 person and has been known to go up to 5. It all depends on the type of jobs that come our way as each client has his/ her specific needs and deadlines they want us to work towards. If required, we call on painter/decorators we've worked with over the years, to come and help us out.
ARE ALL OUR PAINTERS INSURED?
Yes. Fergusons are insured up to a value of £1m.

Also, you can just never know what accidents lie ahead, so it's just as important for us to ensure every painter we work with has professional indemnity insurance.
Safety is as much part our role as decorating and so we ensure the professionals we work are CSCS verified, having passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test.
DO YOU HAVE REFERENCES?
We've got great references.

We will be in your space, so knowing we are trustworthy people is important. We have a number of references on hand from home owners through to reputable businesses that we're happy to share with you.
DO WE ADVISE ON DIFFERENT TYPES OF PAINT?
Yes we do! This forms part of our initial discussion and prior to us providing you with a quote.
CAN WE OFFER ADVICE ON WHAT COLOURS WORK BEST?
Some of our clients have bold and vivid colours in mind, others opt for warmer and more classical tones.

We do not offer an official colour consultation service, but we're more than happy to offer advice on shades to bring the best out in your space.
HOW FAR CAN WE TRAVEL?
We typically serve London and Essex, but may be able to travel further afield. Why not get in touch to discuss?
